Beating Adwords - The Truth About Google And Pay Per Click Advertising

So I've been on the BUM Marketing band wagon for many months - and recently I've decided to take a few of my niches to Google Pay Per Click (PPC). As much as I don't want to admit Google owns the world, especially when it comes to PPC advertising - they do, they do!

I've read all sorts of horror stories how newbie affiliates roll in and sign up for Weathy Affiliate, and start up Google PPC campaigns and lose HUGE bucks because they didn't know any better.

I now know better! I have a clear idea of how to set up my Google PPC campaign, how much to pay for my keyword choices - AND how I can compete with the big boys out there and pay as little as they are for the same keywords.

Beating Adwords isn't just another ebook, and believe me - I've bought my share of ebooks. Beating Adwords is considered the "PPC Bible" when it comes to PPC campaigns. When I started out with PPC, I was very, very cautious at how much I spent and which keywords I targeted. Beating Adwords has shown me to not be shy when it comes to bidding - it's a vicious world out there and competition is fierce - so I'll be fierce too, and educated!

Here's some snippets from Beating Adwords, these were highlights for me. If you're a newb to Google PPC - Beating Adwords is for you!

  • Introduction to Making Money Online - yes that's why we're all here, and Kyle & Carson do a great job of reminding us of the basics, and give some other helpful tips
  • Get a Google Adwords account - if you don't already have one, Beating Adwords explains how to set up your account, what settings to select, and settings to avoid.
  • Product Selection vs. Keyword Costs - Beating Adwords explains how to select a product from Clickbank, and how to determine if you can afford the keywords for the product market. This is a great concept - it would suck to do all sorts of work building landing pages and squeeze pages, to find out you can't afford the keyword to promote your product in your PPC campaign!
  • Outsmart your Competition - Learn about Quality Score, Landing Page Relevancy, Effective Bidding Techniques and how to ensure you're profitable with your campaign. This section by far was the most educational for me.
  • Adwords Optimization - Beating Adwords explains what inactive keywords do for your quality score; discussion about Dynamic Keyword Insertion, and Click Thru Rate (CTR) and Match Types.
  • Webpages That Sell - Since you're spending money for every visitor that hits your landing page - Beating Adwords explains how to create relevant landing pages, not just for Google to help with Quality Score and bidding costs - but ensure your customer really wants what you're selling.
  • Google SLAP Explained - Suddenly can't afford your keywords - WHY? Get your keywords back in action when you understand why and how Google does this.

IMHO (in my honest opinion), Beating Adwords is a must-have for any affiliate marketer. I was already cautious of PPC because of the direct cost, and no guarantee that I would make a sale. But thanks to Beating Adwords, I now understand how to select profitable keywords, figure out my breakeven for bidding on keywords, and how to filter my click thrus to ensure I am getting the right type of traffic - the buying kind!
